Google is my internet BFF.

This article is why.

--much love for John C. Dvorak and PCMag, too.

We (by which I mean middle TN) wouldn't be likely to be in the first wave of any major sweeping changes were this to take place. (Though there is a Google office in Atlanta.) But the idea, and the increasing validity of the idea is just inspiring.

That would be....pretty awesome. Very, even.

Of course, here in NZ we've only just managed to prise the local monopoly off the local loop, so we're still waiting to see what relatively cheap broadband looks like. Let alone free, or wireless.

oh, yech. I'm sorry. We have (relatively) cheap broadband here, I guess you could say, though in many areas you're still pretty limited by which companies you can pick. There's enough variety to keep anti-trust laws happy, but not enough to lead to really competitive pricing.

SQUEEE!

OK, I am actually bouncing up and down in my chair right now and making happy, excited noises, and mostly shouting "That's *brilliant!*"

I think I'll name my first child Google.

My dream job would be working for Google. Unfortunately, I have absolutely nothing to offer them. But I love them, so so much.
