I'm going to be working on some layout/coding things this evening, so if you happen by and the journal looks like utter crap, that's probably why. ;) Hopefully it'll be better by next weekend.
Right now the Ginny Big Bang, and I'm working as a mixer for the Star Trek Big Bang. :) At the moment I don't have anything ready, but I can probably get a draft of my fic to you by this weekend if you'd like to read it. I think right now I just need general reactions and thoughts on it. I have about the first half of the story and am trying to figure out where to go next with it. :)
It'll probably be tomorrow before I have a chance to send the file (I'm using someone else's computer right now and won't be home to use mine until late tonight) but in a nutshell:
The main characters are Rose Weasley and Hyperion "Hype" Malfoy. (A friend suggested the use of his middle name instead of Scorpius, and I liked it quite a lot.) The fic starts with them going to Diagon Alley to get their first wands (completely separately, of course - they haven't met yet) and then chronicles their first year at Hogwarts. They both get sorted into Ravenclaw, and somewhat inadvertently become best friends. (Ron never should have told her not to talk to him, really. ::G::) Rose is a bit like her mother, but not nearly as uptight about things as Hermione was as a young girl, and has a fair share of her Uncle George's cunning thrown in. Hype is a total bookworm, but only about fiction not so much about school work, which drives Rosie crazy, since he makes grades just as good as hers without nearly so much effort. (Actually, Hype is styled a bit off of what I imagine a much less traumatized Fox Mulder would've been like at age 11.)
The other cousins and all of their parents play supporting roles, and the highlight of the story thus far is Rosie concocting a plan to bring Hype home with her for a Weasley Christmas when she realizes that he's always had really boring, colorless "society" sorts of Christmases. That's about where I am right now, and I'm not sure what else is going to happen to them the last half of the year. I know what's going to happen to them in the farther future (because this dovetails into a fic my friend and writing partner is writing about Lily) but not the rest of their first year, as such, and that's the only thing the fic for the big bang is going to encompass.
