Mar. 10th, 2009 11:21 amFor I am very bored (though also a bit busy, weird combo, ne?) So... what's everyone watching these days? Also, why?

Date: 2009-03-11 04:30 am (UTC)Legend of the Seeker on CW/WGN for reasons already mentioned
Robin Hood from BBCA but not on tv, because 1. It's Robin Hood 2. It's goofy campy good fun 3. Marian is insanely awesome in it and kicks more butt than Robin does 4. Robin and Marian make me HAPPY but I've only got 3 eps to go in S2 and then I'm not watching anymore cause of spoilers I read *L*
Merlin because Vaidah made me, and Merlin's got goofy ears, and Uther Pendragon is played by Anthony Stewart Head (!!!)
Chuck on NBC because it's Alias if Alias had been meant to be funny :)
One Tree Hill because I need my bad teen drama fix somewhere and Brooke Davis has cornered the market on sass!
Castle! - See icon for why!
Fringe - because Joshua Jackson could make me watch him reading the phone book!
Without A Trace because this is the season of Sam & Jack!
Bones - because even if it's not as good as it used to be I still have hope it might regain its quality once the writers stop pandering to the shippers.
Supernatural - because Dean? could kick Dr. Who's butt! ;) Plus there's demons and angst and swords, and brotherly love (but not like that!) and general badassery and occasionally really funny dialogue!
Greys & Private Practice because I'm a 25 year soaps addict and I can't help it.
and Dollhouse which I'm still on the fence about it.
A couple weeks ago I would've still been watching Psych which had an awesome season and continues to be hilarious, witty and brilliant even if they taunt us with the ship they'll never give us *L*

Date: 2009-03-11 04:40 am (UTC)I saw a preview for it and am already in love. (But I missed the first ep! Wah!)
Apparently I need to start watching Fringe, because it's shown up several times on here.
I love Dean (and Sam) immensely, but I had to vote for the Doctor because he's The Oncoming Storm and all. Plus Sonic Screwdrivers for the win.
And I am also on the Dollhouse fence, but not for the reason many people seem to be.

Date: 2009-03-11 04:59 am (UTC)Why are you on the Dollhouse fence?
!
Date: 2009-03-11 05:13 am (UTC)I am on the Dollhouse fence because thus far it's just not really grabbed me yet. (I've only seen the first and the most recent ep, though.) And I *love* Eliza and Tahmoh, so for them to not really grab me is kinda weird. I don't have any issues with the subject matter though, which is what I've seen a *lot* of complaints about. I mean, I don't think that people should do what the Dollhouse is doing, but I don't think that any subject is so taboo that we can't have a show exploring it... and it's not like the show is saying "no really, this is a *great* idea and how we should live our lives!" Cause it's not.

Date: 2009-03-11 05:22 am (UTC)I'm with you there, it hasn't really grabbed me either but it usually takes me a while to warm up to Joss' shows so I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. I've mostly stayed out of the fandom debates about it so I didn't realize the subject matter was weirding people out so hard. I think why I'm finding it hard to get into is that Echo changes from week to week (duh I know *L*) but I'm a character driven viewer, I need to love the characters in order to love the shows and since Echo's someone else each week it's hard to latch onto the show for me since she's the one we get the most face time with. Plus this is FOX and Joss so there's the underlying worry that this'll get cancelled on me in 2 eps time *L* It's an interesting idea but I wonder if maybe tv might not be the best format for telling this story as I can see where this would work really well in book or comic format where we could get a more indepth look into Echo's head. But in any case I think Eliza's doing a really good job of changing from week to week, Amy Acker's character is really well done and I really like Echo's handler guy!

Date: 2009-03-12 05:23 pm (UTC)I hadn't actually thought about that, but I would imagine you're right about that one, and that it's why I'm having trouble too. What I noticed this past week, was the interaction between Echo and Sierra and I think I'm starting to 'ship them, a bit... I think the "hook" for me might become watching how the characters interact even when they don't realize their shared history. (Was the guy in the vault w/ Echo (the one that was talking to her about life and art) one of the "regular" Actives that was eating with her and Sierra at the beginning? I need to go back and watch/rewatch everything and see what I pick up.)
