Thanks! We were supposed to be doing those concrete pavers - you know, the round stepping stone things? - and the teacher said off-handedly that the other option would be a glass sheet for the base of the mosaic, and I was all like "I'll be different!" and picked that instead. The design is from a block print series I did for the same class, I just blew it up to twice the original size and slid it underneath the glass plate. Then it was just a matter of placing all the chips on top. It's kind of hard to tell here, but the chips behind the cup are actually pieces of mirror.
Then if I can ever find them I will scan in the block prints for you to see. We did a series, and I used the book and the roses to "connect" three different prints: beauty and the beast was a rose under glass (done in cream ink on black paper), sleeping beauty was a wheel from a spinning wheel twined with vines in turquoise on black, and the image here was done in red on black. I was pretty pleased with how they turned out. :)
