Accomplishment
Nov. 16th, 2007 12:48 am... blinks ...
I'm halfway done.
I realize that math is supposed to be one of my strong suits, and that realizing that half of 50 (or 50000) is 25 (or 25000 as the case may be) should be pretty automatic - but I *didn't* realize that it was 50% of my goal until I plugged it into the NaNoWriMo Report Card (Because yes, I am a geek).
More than that - MUCH more than that - for 15 days, I've made myself write my minimum word count in order to get there. Even when i've been tired, or headachey or wanted desperately to go to bed (and there were also the couple of nights that I hadn't had enough sleep and kept dozing off *on* the keyboard and had to wake up and delete several lines of "k" "l" or "w" from the screen) - I didn't. I kept working on it.
There's a lesson to be learned here.
Bribery works, dude.
I have further rantings on the Forest as the Shadow self of Civilization, and being part of a radical subculture or reality - but may leave those writings to tomorrow, in my religion blog, rather than tangling things up here. Or maybe not. You never know.
But I must to bath and then to bed. And hope I can talk my lovely husband into making me chocolate raspberry coffee in the morning.
Yummy!
Oh, and I finished a Nagini sock. Unfortunately, I can't find the yarn for the other right now.
Darn. ::she says unconvincingly:: I guess that just means I'll have to work on my Rivendell sock, huh?
