Exactly! I know that they have (since hiring her) used the fact that she's of (at least relatively recent) Chinese descent to their advantage as she is passably fluent in Chinese and they sent her undercover once. But I would hazard to guess that when they hired her it was less of an issue - and I also doubt that they hired her with the intention of having her one day be a bad guy, given how she progressed. But that's just my 2cents. :
