(no subject)

I've got a question for y'all.

A local organization is putting on a Whedon-centric convention the second weekend of August (7-9) of this year. It's going to be a charity event with proceeds going to Equality Now, which is one of the charities that Joss supports. He's set things up so that fans can show Serenity and Dr. Horrible as group events as long as the proceeds go to Equality Now.

I'm trying to see what kind of interest there is. I know things are tight for a lot of people right now, but if any of you think that you might be interested, please leave me a note, or email me.

Thanks!

(Vague, I know, but we're still working on sorting out a lot of the details.)

Where will this be? We'd planned our honeymoon for August 2-10 or so; it's possible we could put this on our itinerary. Any more details?

It's here in middle tennessee, right outside of nashville. It's going to be at a local camp (think summer camp type camp - it's a bit rustic, but there's real plumbing and so forth). To the best of my current knowledge, there's going to be a showing of Serenity, possibly a brunch showing of Dr. Horrible (I may have those two backwards, but both are supposed to be happening and one of them has brunch with it) and a Browncoat's ball on Saturday night. I don't know about the rest of the programming yet, but I imagine it'll be workshops and things like at ScaperCon or other cons.

There's space for tents, and cabins (pretty rustic ones, though) and a dorm (read: big room with lots of bunks) that's got electricity in it, and the main hall and dining hall are where most things will likely take place. I should have a website and more info for you in a week or two. ::hugs::
