Welcome to the Twelve Days of Ficmas! Day One!

So a couple years ago, I did this BSG epic for NaNoWriMo. Finally, I've gone through and started the editing process, and one big chunk of it was a list of prompt words I got linked to by xdawnfirex (it was three years ago, and I don't have the direct community link any longer, unfortunately.) Some of them will work into the larger story, but many most of them didn't end up fitting into that timeline. Instead, I've edited them (thank you so much to ez_as_pi for the beta!) and I'm grouping them into loosely related chunks. 12 chunks, as a matter of fact, and thus begins the Twelve Days of Ficmas!

My goal is to post them in twelve parts over the next twelve days. They're entirely separate and autonomous though, so no worries about cliffhangers or missing parts.
